The XPIN®-BT X-ray Detector by Moxtek is a compact, high-performance silicon PIN (Si-PIN) detector optimized for energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) applications, delivering excellent resolution, sensitivity, and portability for benchtop and portable systems.

The XPIN®-BT X-ray Detector from Moxtek represents one of the most capable Si-PIN detector solutions available for analytical X-ray instrumentation. Built around a 625 µm thick silicon PIN diode with an ultra-low-noise JFET preamplifier and a multi-layer collimator, this detector achieves high energy resolution and sensitivity for accurate elemental analysis in demanding applications.

  • Internal Two-Stage Thermoelectric Cooling: Built-in thermoelectric cooling eliminates the need for external cryogenics (no liquid nitrogen), ensuring stable performance and low noise over time.
  • DuraBeryllium® Window: A thin, corrosion-resistant beryllium window with proprietary DuraCoat® protects the detector while maintaining efficient low-energy X-ray transmission.
  • Compact & Portable Design: The BT (“Benchtop/Temperature-controlled”) package is designed for easy mounting in portable and benchtop systems, with simple integration and automatic internal temperature control.
  • Vacuum-Sealed Construction: Vacuum encapsulation enhances thermal stability and detector longevity, supporting consistent performance in industrial or field environments.
