What is real NA?

Real NA is nLIGHT’s method of directly specifying the core numerical aperture (NA) from the finished fiber rather than from preform measurements. This results in more accurate NA values, reduced variation, better beam quality control, and improved matching/splice performance between active and passive fibers

What coating materials are used in double-clad fibers and why?

LIGHT’s double-clad fibers use a dual-layer fluoroacrylate polymer coating: A low-index layer to help guide light inside the inner cladding. A high-index layer for mechanical protection and durability. This coating supports a wide temperature range (-40 °C to +120 °C), performs well in humidity/water immersion tests, and offers long-term reliability

What conditions should I use and store these fibers in?

Operating Temperatures: • Double-clad fibers: -40 °C to +120 °C • Single-clad fibers: -40 °C to +85 °C Storage Conditions: Store between +10 °C to +60 °C with 30%–70% relative humidity, protect from UV, and keep in a dust-free space with protective covers on spools
